NA body recommends Govt,HEC to appoint Vice Chancellor in Ghazi University

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reforms on Thursday recommended the Punjab Government and Higher Education Commission, Punjab to appoint Vice-Chancellor (VC) in the Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan on the regular basis so as to improve the performance and standard of the University.

The meeting of the Committee was presided by the Member National Assembly Abdul Majeed Khan. Lahore College for Women (LCW) VC briefed the Committee on the performance, development work, achievements and the future goals of the University in detail.

After the detailed briefing, the Committee expressed its satisfaction over the performance of the University and made the recommendations, said a press release.

The Committee directed the concerned authorities to expedite the construction work of the new campus of the Ghazi University at Kala Shakaku, Lahore in order to complete the construction work in time.

The meeting was also attended by the following MNAs: Malik Ibrar Ahmad, Ms Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Ms Shaheen Shafiq, Ms Shamas-un-Nisa,  Junaid Akbar, Qaiser Jamal, Sher Akber Khan, Iftikhar-ud-Din, Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar, Syed Muhammad Athar Hussain Shah Gillani, Dr Asma Mamdot, Ms Shazia Sohail Mir, Dr Nafisa Shah and Ms. Asiya Nasir.
