QUETTA: Two terrorists were killed by security personnel when a checkpost was attacked by militants here on Tuesday evening. The incident left five injured, including two FC personnel and three civilians.
Security sources said that two terrorists stormed a security check post in Baleli area on the outskirts of the provincial capital Quetta. During the exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed on the spot by FC personnel.
Police officials said that firing was heard in the area followed by an explosion, adding that security forces cordoned of the area to initiate search operations.
According to the Bomb Disposal Squad, around eight to 10 kg of explosives was used in the attack. The area was cleared by the squad after the incident.
The injured were shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta for medical treatment.
Earlier in December, members of the Christian community were targeted in a suicide attack at a church. At least nine people were killed and more than 50 injured in the attack that took place at Bethel Memorial Church in Quetta.
