New York, London and Paris – as well as Birmingham, Britain’s unsung second city, and four Disney park locations – were among the most popular spots captured on Instagram this year, reported The Telegraph.

The latest survey by the photo-sharing app revealed that Big Apple was the most-posted city in the world, followed by Moscow, London, São Paulo, and rounding out the top five, Paris, which earlier this year saw a 10-year-high in visitor numbers, despite fears over terrorism.

Jakarta, the Indonesian capital was in eighth place, making it the only Asian city to make it to the top 10, while St Petersburg was the second Russian inclusion, coming in as the seventh most Instagrammed city.

London was also the most geo-tagged location in Britain, with Tower Bridge, Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace being the top three most popular landmarks posted on the app, followed by Edinburgh, Manchester, Brighton and Birmingham.
