The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday directed senior lawyer Khawaja Shams-ul-lslam, who was booked for allegedly misbehaving with the law enforcers, to satisfy it on his plea against leaking of his ‘behind the bars’ photo.

Shams-ul-lslam approached the SHC and submitted a picture, which was taken when he was behind the bars, went viral on the social media, defaming the image of whole lawyers’ community. “Lawyers are very respectable but they should think about their attitude,” the court observed.

The petitioner, an advocate of the SHC, cited home secretary, inspector general Sindh and DIG South as the respondents in his plea. Directing the petitioner to argue on legal points of his plea, the court put off the hearing.

In a video which went viral, Islam can be seen arguing with the police personnel who stopped him while he was driving his sports car, for snap checking near Sea View a few days ago. Later, a case was lodged and the advocate was arrested by the police which produced him before the judicial magistrate.

On the other hand, lslam accused the police of misbehaving with him when he was on his way to home at Abdul Sattar Edhi Road. Currently he is out on bail.
