LAHORE: Envoys belonging to over 16 countries called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz on Sunday to exchange ideas pertaining to trade and promotion of relations in various fields of investment.

Over the course of two-hour long meeting, the ambassadors and high commissioners paid tribute to the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif, saying the CM has made Punjab a developed province with his hard work and determination.

Talking to the envoys, Shehbaz said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has upheld the vision of the founder of the country, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and in comparison to the past, the PML-N has marked the records of selfless public service by completing development projects in the record period.

During the last four years, the ruling party’s government has put the country in the right direction despite all the challenges, he said, adding Pakistan is moving forward on the voyage of development and prosperity.

He said the PML-N government has also gotten rid of load shedding from the country. Punjab and federal government jointly established power plants of 6, 000 megawatts from its own money, he said, adding that projects in past, however, were installed with borrowed money.

Commenting on the significant decrease in terrorism over the period of four years, the chief minister said, “The decisions made with a consensus to fight against terrorism have brought success.”

There is no room for terrorism in Jinnah’s Pakistan, Shehbaz said, adding the menace of terrorism has internal as well as external causes.

Lauding the services of security forces in the war on terror, the CM said that armed forces, police, law enforcement agencies and citizens have written a new chapter of history with their blood.

Going into detail over Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, he said Pakistan was the only country that gave such great sacrifices in the war against terrorism. “The fight against terrorism continues and Pakistan will win this war,” he vowed, adding that the terrorists and their facilitators have been eliminated largely. He said that if we go ahead with collective efforts and joint acumen then success will be our fortune.
