LAHORE: Former vice-chancellor of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Dr Zafar Iqbal’s protocol director Ghulam Bashir Bughio and his son Shamim Ahmad Bughio were arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for their alleged involvement in the establishment of illegal sub-campuses in Lahore.
According to NAB source, the accused were arrested from Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal areas on Thursday and presented before an accountability court in Lahore. The court on Friday sent them on judicial remand till January 3.
During interrogation, another suspect Naeem Amjad confessed in his statement to NAB that an amount of Rs2.5 million had been credited to Ghulam’s account for facilitating the establishment of the illegal campuses of FUUAST.
