NOSHEHRA: A man who attempted suicide after throwing his three children into River Kabul was arrested by the police on Thursday, near Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Nowshera district.
The District Police Officer (DPO) of Nowshera, Qasim Ali Khan, said that the accused, Alamgir Khan, threw his four-year-old son and six-year-old daughter into the river, before jumping along with his youngest son.
DPO described that despite the man himself was saved by the locals, his three children swept away in the fast flowing river.
The body of the man’s youngest son has been recovered, while the bodies of the other two children have not yet been found.
It is said that the man had returned to Pakistan from Kuwait a month and a half ago.
After a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against him, Alamgir claimed during the investigation to have taken this extreme step because his wife “did not take proper care of his children.” the DPO said.
