LAHORE: Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Captain (R) Muhammad Amin Wains has inaugurated the new building of Mozang Police Station on Monday.

Captain Amin said that the old building was unable to provide a safe working environment to the cops and was also the reason behind many problems faced by the policemen in their routine official matters.

Admin SSP Rana Ayaz Saleem, Punjab Assembly Member (MPA) Majid Zahoor, Civil Lines SP Syed Ali Raza, Old Anarkali DSP Pervaiz Butt, Mozang police station SHO Kashif Yousuf and notable locals were also present on the inauguration of the police station’s new building.

Speaking on the occasion, CCPO Lahore said that a police station must be a sigh of relief for the helpless people and equally, a sign of horror and fear for criminals. “If elected representatives cooperate with local police then we can build a new picture of changed ‘Thana Culture’”, he said.

“Petty issues of the area can be solved by Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) but this is not possible without the cooperation of local notables and the elected representatives,” he said.

The CCPO urged the local residents to be aware of any suspicious activity in their area and asked them to inform the police immediately if they find any such activity in their surroundings. Moreover, he also lauded the efforts of Admin SSP Rana Ayaz Saleem for the timely completion of the new Mozang police station building.

Rana Ayaz Saleem said, “We are taking initiatives for the rehabilitation of other old police station buildings and the estimates are ready, therefore, construction work will begin very soon”.
