‘Invention to Innovation’ summit opens on Wednesday

The inauguration ceremony of the second ‘Invention to Innovation’ Summit Sindh, organised by the University of Karachi will be held on Wednesday (December 20) at HEJ Auditorium, an official of the institution said on Sunday.

Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Prof Dr Mukhtar Ahmed will be the chief guest. KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan will preside over the event, while KU ORIC Director Prof Dr Majid Mumtaz will present the welcome address.

Speakers of the first day include CEO Institute of Research Promotion Abid HK Shinwari, FPCCI President Zubair Tufail, Korangi Association of Trade and Industry President Tariq Malik, Sindh University VC Prof Dr Fateh Burfat, Mehran University VC Prof Dr Muhammad Aslam Uqaili, Pakistan Council for Science and Technology Chairman Dr Anwarul Hassan Gilani and Pakistan Science Foundation Chairman Dr Muhammad Ashraf.

Closing Ceremony of the summit will be held on December 21 at 4:30pm at Arts Auditorium, KU. KU VC Prof Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan will preside the occasion while Pakistan Science Foundation Chairman Dr Muhammad Ashraf will be the chief guest. Speakers on the second day include KCCI President Muffasar Atta Malik, Iqra University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Wasim Qazi, Shah Abdul Latif University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Parveen Shah, Jinnah University for Women Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Naeem Farooqui and SITE Association of Industry Chairman Jawed Bilwani.

Exhibitions on technology prototypes, water, food and energy sector, fund winning training sessions for academia and industry, workshops on organic foods and health, technology for life sciences and competitions will also be held during the two days.
