Transparency in uplift projects a priority: minister

SARGODHA: State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha on Saturday said that on-time completion and transparency in all ongoing development projects was a priority of the government.

Chairing the District Coordination Committee meeting here, the minister said that elements creating hurdles in the way of development, and contractors using low-quality materials, would not be tolerated.

All local parliamentarians including MNA Chaudhry Hamid Hameed and Dr Zulfiqar Bhatti, MPA Rana Munawar Ghous, Dr Nadia Aziz, Sardar Bahadur Mekan, Faisal Cheema, Sargodha Mayor Naveed Aslam, District Council Chairman Asim Sher Mekan and other officials were also present in the meeting.

The minister said recruitment in grade-4 was continuing across country and merit was being followed while the third party audit would also be held in all appointments.

The meeting was told that under highways schemes, Rs4.15 billion had been released for 151 development projects in the district and under Annual Development Fund, Rs6.90 billion had been released so far for 347 schemes.

The minister asked the departments concerned to expedite development work and complete the infrastructural development projects within given time period.
