ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain appealed to all segments of the society to overcome their petty differences and to help ensure the rule of law to overcome challenges facing the country.

He was addressing the “Quaid-e-Azam Seminar” organised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) on Friday.

The president said that the people of the country could sit together to sort out their differences in the spirit of patriotism, selflessness and unity.

He remarked that Pakistanis had forgotten the teachings of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other founding fathers of the country so that they were indulging in principle-less politics and lawlessness.

He further warned that a worsening of the situation could take the country even farther away from the realisation of the dream of economic stability and development.

He said that Pakistan’s founding fathers had visualised Pakistan to not only be prosperous but also a country that benefitted its neighbours and other countries of the region due to its geographical location.

He said that the country had started to move in the desired direction but its political crises were a source of major concern. He expressed confidence that despite trials and tribulations, the nation would be able to move forward and all segments of the society, especially youth, would play their role for the purpose.

He said that youth had helped change the course of history during the Pakistan movement and they could now play a crucial role in taking it forward.

He said that Pakistan and Turkey could jointly play a great role in overcoming challenges of the Muslim ummah.  He said that the two countries, through their deep and harmonious relations, could render great services to humanity.
