Govt serious about implementation of FATA reforms: Governor Jhagra

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said Thursday that the government is serious about implementation of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) reforms which will lead to initiating a new era of development and progress in the area.

He further added that the provision of basic facilities to people of FATA was the top most priority of the incumbent government.

He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) FATA chapter which called on him at the Governor House Peshawar. The delegation was headed by Faqir Muhammad.

The governor said on the occasion that besides the reconstruction of infrastructure, various developmental projects were ongoing in the health and education sectors. He said that no compromises would be made on quality in the ongoing developmental projects and all projects would be completed on time.

He further said that the federal government was making all out efforts to strengthen the socio-economic basis of FATA, while adding that no stone would be left unturned to remove the sense of deprivation of the tribal population.

Members of the delegation apprised the governor about the problems and difficulties being faced by the people of FATA. In response, the governor assured his full support to help resolve grievances of the tribal people.
