Delegations from leading political parties Saturday separately called on President Asif Ali Zardari here at Aiwan-e-Sadr to offer their condolences to the president over the sad demise of his father late Hakim Ali Zardari. PML-Q delegation was headed by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, while a five-member ANP delegation was led by Amir Haider Khan Hoti, chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) delegation was led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, while PPP leaders Makhdoom Amin Fahim and Dr Babar Awan were also present during the meetings. Later, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, head of Pakistan Peoples Party (Sherpao), along with his delegation met with the president while Mir Jan Mohammad Jamali, deputy chairman of Senate, also called on the president separately. The delegates offered fateha for the departed soul of the father of the president and prayed to Allah Almighty for granting eternal peace to the departed soul. The president thanked the visitors for their condolences and their sympathies.
