LAHORE: Instead of threatening another long march, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should tell public what it had done and achieved to eradicate inflation and unemployment in the province of Punjab, PML-Quaid’s central leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said while addressing an Okara workers’ meeting in Lahore on Sunday.
Nawaz Sharif needed to reform his younger brother before telling others what to do, he said, adding that the decisions of the incumbent government had broken the back of citizens of the province. He said the citizens could not be deceived by PML-N anymore since they knew exactly what was going on and stressed that the leaders should quit their selfish policies and pay attention on improving the lives of common men.
He praised the party leaders and workers for remaining firm against the Punjab government’s vindictive policies and called them the party’s true asset. Elahi urged the participants to employ all their abilities for further strengthening the party’s roots in the masses and said that the poor performance of the N League’s Punjab government was no match to the sterling performance of the previous Muslim League government from 2002 to 2007.
The participants reaffirmed their unflinching trust and confidence in the leadership of Chaudhry Shujat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and pledged to continue working under their leadership and guidance. The meeting ended with a condolence prayer for the late former senior federal minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal.
