LAHORE: The political storm that had started against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government after the removal of Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister, is thickening as the leaders of different political parties have started meeting Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Allama Tahirul Qadri in an attempt to persuade him to launch another sit-in to get rid of PML-N in Punjab.

After the PPP co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari’s meeting with Dr Qadri on Thursday, leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) are expected to meet PAT Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri in Lahore tomorrow (Saturday).

A PTI delegation comprising of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen, Chaudhry Sarwar, Aleem Khan, Ejaz Chaudhry and Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed will meet the PAT chairman.

Meanwhile, PSP leader Mustafa Kamal has also accepted the invitation of Dr Qadri to visit him tomorrow while speaking with him on the phone today.

Sources have informed that along with Kamal, PSP Secretary General Raza Haroon and Vice Chairman Iftikhar Randhawa will also meet Dr Qadri. The PAT leader expressed his gratitude to Kamal for openly supporting PAT’s stance on the Model Town judicial report.

Both leaders agreed to discuss the content of the judicial report and on deciding a future course of action for the issue. Kamal told Dr Qadri that after the report it is quite clear that Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah were responsible for the killings. PSP leaders are expected to reach Lahore at 9 am on Saturday.

The leaders of small parties are also planning to back the PAT chief regarding the report on the Model Town tragedy to further pressurize the Shehbaz Sharif government. PML-Q and Awami Muslim League (AML) leaders are already backing the PAT chief for a campaign against Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah.
