Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain demanded on Friday that Pakistan Army, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and the government be held accountable, saying that nation was being “misguided” that its nuclear installation were safe. “The armed forces could not hold just four terrorists who kept them engaged for 16 hours,” Altaf told his party workers in a telephonic speech from London. “I am addressing the top army officers and intelligence agencies; they must listen to me carefully.
The entire armed forces were on one side and on the other side were only four terrorists. The nation is being misled into believing that our nuclear arms are safe, one day some aircraft will come and take away all our nuclear assets!” Altaf said that he did not care if the president, prime minister or the federal cabinet was annoyed with him because of his views. Altaf said responsibility for the Abbottabad incident could not be affixed to a single person. He said a part of the army and the ISI was “infected by a cancer”, but the institutions had not gone bad as a whole. He said Pakistan Army was the best army in the world.
