BADIN: Journalistic, political, social and religious organisations celebrated the Sindhi Cultural Day with traditional fervour and zeal by organizing a massive rally to highlight the Sindhi culture, history and heritage.
The rally began at Allahwala Chowk, marched on the main roads of the city and concluded outside Badin Press Club.
People from different walks of life participated in the rally, including representatives of Badin Press Club, Aiwan-e-Sahafat (journalists’ union), Tajir Ittehad (traders’ union), National Rural Development Programme (NRDP), Laar Art Council, motorcycle showroom association, medical store association, cloth association, Pakistan Fisher Folk Forum, Bazm-e-Roh Rehan, National School and College of Science and Arts Badin and others.
Participants, including men and children and wearing cultural dresses, joined in the rally taken out from Allahwala Chowk and converged at the local press club, where the main function of the city was organised.
The city reverberated with folk and cultural songs like “Jeay Sindh Jeay” (Long live Sindh). The whole area gave a festive look as people belonging to all walks of life and different political, social and other organizations mingled with and greeted each other during the course of the function. Buildings were decorated with flags and banners. The participants while celebrating the cultural day pledged to protect the Sindhi culture and the history of Sindh.
