LAHORE: In a letter sent to the chief election commissioner by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party has asked for legal action to be taken against Kulsoom Nawaz for not participating in political activities and not taking oath after winning NA-120 by-elections.
The letter was drafted by PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry who put forth a series of questions regarding Kulsoom’s win.
Chaudhry states that Kulsoom has failed to fulfil the legal requirements since winning office and has asked the election commissioner whether after winning the elections, a constituency can be deprived of a representative for over a month.
He also asked the commissioner what “the legal and constitutional repercussions” were if the winning candidate did take an oath before a certain period of time.
Chaudhry further asked if there was a possibility of re-elections after declaring NA-120 polls null and void.
