Two dead, three injured, 21 held with arms, drugs in Karachi

KARACHI: At least two people died and three others were injured in separate incidents in the metropolis on Wednesday, while the police arrested 21 outlaws and recovered arms, cell phones, cash, bike and drugs during separate actions.

Rescue sources said that a labourer Muhammad Haneef, 35, died while his fellow Karam Ali, 40, was injured when the roof of a warehouse in Maripur suddenly caved in on them.

Another person identified as Muhammad Sarwar, 35, was electrocuted when he mistakenly touched a live naked wire inside his house in Manzoor Colony, Junejo Town.

Armed robbers shot at and injured two citizens upon resistance during a robbery attempt in the jurisdiction of Super Highway Police Station. The people present near the scene held one robber while his cohort managed to escape.

Meanwhile, the police, during separate actions in Site, Baldia Town and Kaleri area of the metropolis, arrested 20 outlaws and recovered three TT Pistols, five kilogrammes hashish, snatched cell phones, looted cash and a bike.

Separate cases regarding all of these incidents were registered at concerned police stations and investigations were initiated.
