KARACHI: Karachi police claimed to have arrested 17 accused, including a drug peddler woman, from different parts of the city in the wee hours of Wednesday.
On the directions of West district SSP, a police team conducted a search operation in Saeedabad’s Dawood Goth and nabbed four accused named Siraj, Sajid, Zahir and Khair Muhammad, and recovered drugs and weapons from them.
SITE police arrested three street criminals named Zeeshan, Asim Ahmed, and Fazal and recovered two pistols and snatched cell phones from their possession.
During crackdowns on criminals in Mauripur, Sharafi Goth, Quaidabad, Zaman Town, New Karachi, Liaquatabad and Ittehad Town, the police apprehended nine criminals identified as Abdul Rasheed, Hamidullah son of Gulsa Khan, Raza Gul son of Ashraf Gul, Arman son of Tahir Gul, Imran Khan son of Fazal Din, Nabeel, Atif son of Qamar, Bashir and a drug peddler woman Rashida wife of Safiullah.
SITE police carried out a targeted raid in Gutka factory and arrested the factory owner. The police also claimed to have recovered weapons, drugs, and contrabands from the detainees, and started further investigations, said police.
