‘PPP activist’ gunned down

A 22-year-old man was shot dead in Railway Colony, Kalapul, officials at the Frere police station said on Thursday. Police said that Danial Dildar Hussain was hanging out with his friends when some unidentified people opened fire on him. Resultantly, he died on the spot and his body was rushed to the JPMC, the police added. Police officials also said that the victim was suspected to be affiliated with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
BODY FOUND: The tortured and bullet-riddled body of an 18-year-old boy was recovered from Bazarta Lines, Regent Plaza. Duty officer at the Saddar police station said that the police had received a phone call regarding a body at house No 8/29 in Bazarta Lines. A police party reached the house and shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), the officer added.
The duty officer said that the victim worked for JPMC doctors Drs Shahzad and Fazlullah. He said that the victim bore torture marks on his body and had sustained a single bullet to the head. The officer also said that the victim was killed over property issues; however, further investigation was under way.
DROWNED: Rescue workers fished out the body of a 22-year-old man from the sea. Salman Abdul Rehman had drowned off the Hawkesbay point on Wednesday while picnicking. The rescuers fished out his body from the sea and handed it over to the heirs for burial.
