Severe petrol shortage has hit Lahore in the last couple of days. A survey of various areas revealed that around 70 percent of the petrol stations have been dry as petroleum products were unavailable.
Speaking to Pakistan Today, the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) SVP Chaudhry Saddiq grieved that dealers were denied of petrol from oil marketing companies. He cited mismanagement in the energy sector as a reason for the current crises. He pointed out that oil refineries had failed to supply petroleum products to oil marketing companies due to the soaring circular debt.
