LAKKI MARWAT: Five people were killed and two others injured when gunmen ambushed a car in Bakhmal Ahmedzai village of Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday.
The deadly ambush took place in the jurisdiction of Tajori police station. The assistant sub-inspector identified the gunmen as Shahid and Naveed who were riding a motorcycle.
“They opened indiscriminate fire when the car approached,” he told a media outlet.
“Five people were killed on the spot and another two, the driver and a passer-by, were injured.”
The driver was immediately driven to Peshawar for treatment. The passer-by, an Afghan national, was treated for bullet wounds at a local hospital and discharged subsequently.
According to local residents, the victims were related to the former personal assistant of Ayesha Gulalai, the disgruntled female lawmaker of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Police handed over the bodies to the heirs after medico-legal formalities at the local hospital.
This should be in the headlines. This is just too much.
