JAMMU: Muslim organisations staged protests in Jammu against journalist Rohit Sardana who recently posted blasphemous tweets against important Muslim personalities of Islam.
According to KMS, the protests were organized by Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu, All Ladakh Muslim Student Association, Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plot and members of Shaheed Muttahri Library against Sardana’s blasphemous tweets.
Speaking on the occasion, Anjuman-e-Imamia President Syed Amanat Ali Shah said, “This is an attempt to get cheap publicity. The Press Council of India should impose lifetime ban on his [Sardana’s] reporting so that he cannot incite the religious sentiments of masses by reporting such derogatory statements.”
Anjuman-e-Imamia Secretary Professor Shujat Ali Khan said that Sardana earlier also posted some statements to unleash communal hatred in the region. Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu called for banning and taking strict action against him, failing which it will be forced to come on roads to register a protest.
Similar protests were organised at Talab Khitikan area of Old Jammu city under the leadership of Muslim Action Committee President Muhammad Sharif Sartaj in which the protesters shouted slogans against Sardana and demanded his arrest.
Speaking on the occasion, Sartaj urged strict action against Rohit Sardana.
Jammu Muslim Front Chairman Shuja Zafar and its President Imran Qazi also condemned the blasphemous tweets.
Rohit Sardana in his tweets targeted Prophet Mohammed (SAW)’s daughter Hazrat Fatima (RA), wife Hazrat Ayesha (RA) and Hazrat Mariam (AS).
He should be shot dead.
