ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has urged the youth to equip themselves with modern knowledge and technology to get maximum benefits from the opportunities offered by on-going development projects in the country.

Addressing the 12th Convocation of Riphah International University in Islamabad Saturday, the president said youth are the future of Pakistan and training them in line with our ideology and religious values will solidify the very foundations of the nation.

“The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has opened vast opportunities and the youth can benefit by keeping up with the demands of industry, technology and other sectors,” the president said.

Mamnoon Hussain said the corridor project will make Pakistan a hub of trade and economic activity as it has increased the significance of Gwadar deep seaport.

The president said the founding fathers of Pakistan had envisioned an exemplary Islamic welfare state free from all kinds of exploitation and with a determined and enthusiastic youth this vision was being translated into reality.

He said Pakistan had been facing challenges due to external interference in the region but today extremism and terrorism were on the verge of collapse and we have to remain committed that the menace does not sprout again.

Earlier, the president distributed degrees and medals among the graduates and congratulated them, their parents and teachers.
