LAHORE: Police mobiles and motorbikes are going to waste due to the negligence of Anti Vehicle Lifting Staff (AVLS) Cell and after being kept in dreadful conditions and not being properly serviced.
Miserable performance of AVLS Cell, which was established to return motorbikes and cars recovered from robbers to the real owners, has resulted in a large contingent of the vehicles to pile up at various police stations in the city and go to waste.
Plenty of police motorbikes confined for police patrolling are turning to scrap in various police stations of the city. Earlier, a Protection Cell was formulated by the police department to look after robbed, detained and official vehicles. However, due to negligence many of these vehicles are going to waste.
Apart from this, patrolling vehicles which have been lying unused are gathering rust and are becoming unusable.
