Civil servant found dead outside hotel in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: An assistant commissioner from Shangla was recovered dead outside a hotel in the jurisdiction of the Kabuli police station last night.

As per reports, a police official said that a man was found unconscious outside the Rose Hotel on Wednesday night. He was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

“He was later identified as Shangla Assistant Commissioner Syed Qadir who had a service card as well as a CNIC and Rs80,000 in his pocket.” The officer further informed that Qadir had been in Peshawar for a court hearing and had been staying at a hotel on Shoba Chowk.

The official further apprised that the doctors concluded that Qadir’s death had been caused by cardiac arrest. However, police authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and the deceased’s body has been sent for postmortem, adding that the autopsy report would confirm the cause of death.
