LAHORE: Funeral prayer of Major Ishaq has been offered in Lahore on Thursday and he has been laid to rest in Cavalry Ground Army Graveyard with full army protocol.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Railways Mininster Khawaja Saad Rafique were present at the funeral prayer of the martyred army officer alongside the bereaved family.
Earlier in the day, Major Ishaq’s body had reached the city and preparations for the funeral prayer had begun at the Ayub Stadium.
28-year-old Major Ishaq was martyred after an exchange of fire took place during a search operation at a terrorist hideout in Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday.
The deceased’s funeral prayer was also held at Dera Ismail Khan and was attended by Chief of Army Staff General (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa and other high-ranking officials, including Peshawar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Nazir Butt.
Major Ishaq left behind his widow and one-year-old son.
