Lahore corps commander attends military drill near Jehlum

ISLAMABAD: Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Amir Riaz on Thursday witnessed a military exercise that took place at Tilla Jogian near Jehlum, according to ISPR.

Lt General Riaz directed troops to further improve their drills. These military exercises take place around this time every year under collective training.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mushaf airbase and observed the multinational drills that took place at newly founded Air Power Centre of Excellence (ACE).

Both the Royal Saudi Air Force and the Turkish Air Force, with observers from eight other countries participated in these military exercises, ACES meet 2017. The two-week long exercise started on October 16, said a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The army chief was briefed on the ACE facility and the scope of the exercise, which basically revolves around mutual cooperation between the forces and to come up with modern concepts for counter-terrorism, added ISPR.

Addressing the occasion, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said that the existing global security scenario coupled with changing dynamics of warfare, calls for an greater partnership among nations and their armed forces.
