LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal visited NAB’s Lahore office on Tuesday.
NAB Director General Shehzad Saleem received the chairman and briefed him about major cases the Lahore office was handling, including the Panama Papers case and the investigation against housing societies.
Justice (r) Javed Iqbal speaking on the occasion of his visit stated that NAB is an institution not made for just one province, party or person and that it cannot accommodate any corrupt officers.
He directed that none of the NAB officers should come under any pressure during the investigation of corruption cases. The NAB chairman further stated that at present, NAB is dealing with the investigation of 179 mega corruption cases out of which 33 have been concluded.
Justice (r) Javed Iqbal stated that he will not be sparing ineligible officers appointed to any position and that all sensitive cases will be dealt directly by him.
