Punjab govt to handover ambulance services to private company

LAHORE: Punjab Government has signed an agreement to handover ambulance services to a private company.

The company will be receiving per kilometre fare from the provincial government. The charges for an 800CC vehicle will be Rs28 and for 2500-3000CC it will be Rs44.

The fixed cost for per kilometer will vary depending on the rise and fall in petrol prices. Punjab government will pay Rs15,000 for the maintenance of ambulances doing active mileage of 12,000km.

A fine of Rs 500 will be imposed on ambulance drivers by the government in case of delay in responding to distress calls.
