Indian pharma company fleecing Pakistani cancer patients

LAHORE: In a letter penned by the Federal Drug Inspector to Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), it has been revealed that the cost of life-saving drugs of cancer and for treating brain tumors costs nearly 10 times higher in Pakistan when compared to India.

According to reports, Indian company Temoside exports the drugs to Pakistan. The price of the Temoside, for five capsules of 100mg medicine, ranges between INR Rs3,000 and INR Rs5,000 in India while the same is being sold in Pakistan at a whooping Rs31,000.

DRAP has directed the company concerned to share a copy of the medicine’s registration, three last invoices for the import of medicine and details of same drug manufactured in India being sold by the same company.
