Families in grief as bodies of Turbat tragedy victims reach hometowns

LAHORE: The grief and anguish of families of the Turbat tragedy victims was palpable as the bodies of the deceased have started arriving in their hometowns.

Tears, wails and heartbreak marked the arrival of the coffins containing victim’s corpses and the once bright hopes of the family members at the prospects of a better life by their closed one’s journey were turned into agony.

The victims hailed from different districts of Punjab and included two residents from Sialkot, two from Gujranwala and one victim from Mandi Bahauddin.

Ghufran and Ghafoor, two friends from Sialkot had paid a hefty amount to the agents for their journey to Europe while Khurrum Shehzad from Mandi Bahauddin gambled away all his savings in search of a better life.

The two other victims, 28-year-old Ghulam Rabbani and Ahsan hailed from Gujranwala.

All bullet-riddled bodies were found in Balochistan’s Kech district on Wednesday morning.

According to details, the paramilitary forces found the bodies in the Gorak area of Buleda tehsil.

“All the victims received multiple bullets from a close range,” said an official, adding that the victims appeared to belong to various districts of Punjab.

Upon discovery of the bodies, Levies and Frontier Corps personnel reached the area and the bodies were shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Turbat.

  1. These terrorists are in Afghanistan and we should kill them there before they come in our country. Their leaders are in Oman, UAE & Europe and we should eliminate them
