MOL Pakistan honours local community for contributing to social welfare initiatives

PESHAWAR: MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company recently hosted an impressive award distribution ceremony at Circuit House to recognise local community and government’s contributions to the successful implementation of social welfare initiatives sponsored by the company.

Kohat Commissioner Mutahir Zeb chaired the event as chief guest. Kohat Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Awal Khan, Kohat Deputy Commissioner Khalid Ilyas, Hangu Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mehmood, Karak Deputy Commissioner Shafiullah Khan, Kohat District Health Officer (DHO) Musharraf Khan and other government officials witnessed the ceremony.

The chief guest distributed intermediate and technical scholarship certificates among the youth of Kohat, Karak and Hangu upon the completion of their respective scholarship programs supported by MOL Pakistan. Certificates were also distributed among the health officials who played an active role in MOL Pakistan-sponsored anti-dengue campaign in Kohat district, which greatly helped in eradicating the disease from the region.

In his message, MOL Pakistan Managing Director Graham Balchin said, “We are extremely thankful to the government authorities and local elders for supporting us here. We are quite determined in further investing towards the well-being of the residents of our operational areas and are hopeful to continue the same pace in future”.

In his message, MOL group regional advisor for the Middle East, Africa and Pakistan Ali Murtaza Abbas said, “MOL Group is a responsible corporate entity that is operating worldwide. We feel responsible for the betterment of the local community wherever we operate. Initiatives that we have successfully carried out in this region truly depict our vision which could never have been achieved without the extensive support of local administration and elders.”

Later, the chief guest distributed wheelchairs among the physically challenged persons of Tal Block, another venture funded by MOL Pakistan. Mutahir Zeb lauded MOL Pakistan’s role in assisting the government of Pakistan in the provision of social welfare services to people in need.

Kohat DIG and Kohat deputy commissioner also spoke at the occasion and appreciated MOL Pakistan’s efforts in looking after the needs of the local communities. The ceremony concluded with a grand martial arts show that attracted a hearty applause from the audience.
