KARACHI: Staying true to his word of resigning from Muttahida Qaumi Movement- Pakistan (MQM-P) and his National Assembly (NA) seat, Ali Raza Abidi on Monday morning took to Twitter to formally announce his resignation.

In a tweet, the former leader of MQM- P  posted his resignation on Monday morning, in which he said he was resigning due to political and personal reasons.

Last week, the MQM-P and PSP created an alliance to contest the 2018 general elections under one party, one name and one symbol, which broke up within 24 hours with the leaders of the two parties heaping scorn on each other.

Following the alliance, Abidi had announced on the social networking site to quit the party as well as resign from parliament.
