Veteran politician and President Asif Ali Zardari’s father Hakim Ali Zardari passed away on Tuesday in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) following a protracted illness. He was 81. He is survived by his spouse Dr Zareen Ara Zardari and three children – Asif, Azra Fazal Peechoho and Faryal Talpur.
Doctors had been keeping Hakim on a ventilator for the past two weeks on his family’s request with a hope that he might survive. However, his condition deteriorated during the past few days as his organs began failing to work. President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar confirmed to Pakistan Today that Hakim breathed his last at PIMS.
