KARACHI: Police killed an alleged robber during an encounter in Korangi area of the city early on Friday.
According to rescue sources, a gang of three unknown robbers, aged from 22 to 32, were looting people at gunpoint in Korangi area, when police reached the scene. The robbers opened fire on the police at which the police returned fire.
During the exchange, one of the robbers, Gul Zaman Khan, suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot, while his two accomplices fled the scene. The police also recovered a TT pistol, bullets and motorbike from the spot.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for medico-legal formalities.
