Former Pakistani skipper Wasim Akram says that a Pakistan India match is more fun to watch and is watched by “a billion people” and it is extremely saddening that young cricketers from Pakistan and India are unable to play cricket against each other.

The King of Swing, when asked about a Pakistan India series, stated: “I don’t think ICC has the power to pursue BCCI, but again I have always said people to people contact is necessary. Politics and sport should be separate.”

In 2014, the BCCI agreed to play six bilateral series with Pakistan from 2015 to 2023, four of which were to be hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board. However, till date, the BCCI has refused to play any of the agreed series, neither in Pakistan nor at any neutral venue like Sri Lanka or the United Arab Emirates.

  1. And Indians are saying to Pakistanis….don’t mix trade with politics. Allow trade between India and Afghanistan. If cannot then do not give sermons on sport and politics either. Do not be hypocrites.
