KARACHI: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah on Thursday said the merger between Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) would not affect the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
“I foretold that both the parties would merge with one another,” said the senior PPP leader.
Giving his two cents on the dramatic political development, Shah further said that Karachi’s vote is not of MQM-P or PSP, but of someone else. He also said that the leadership of both the parties had always been on the same page.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that “we all know who the leader of the newly merged parties would be”.
A consultative meeting of party leaders has been called by the MQM-P to address reservations of its disgruntled leaders on the recently-held joint press conference with Pak Sarzameen Party Chairman Mustafa Kamal, according to reports.
Reportedly, senior party leaders are now seeking an explanation from Dr Sattar to inform them whether the party is going to hold an electoral alliance or a merger with the Kamal-led PSP.
