KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that action would be taken against the officers and contractors who are unable to complete development work.
The minister emphasised especially on the provision of missing facilities such as washrooms and boundary walls and repairing of the ceilings and renovation of the school buildings.
He said this while talking to media here on Wednesday in Sindh Assembly before the session started. Replying to a question, he said that the officers and contractors had been directed to complete development work at schools during summer vacations, but they had failed to do so and also failed to achieve the targets even on a later deadline.
Dahar also said that he firmly believed in transparency and merit for promotion and for their actualisation. He added that he would not compromise on the standard of education and development work and will not come under any pressure.
The minister said that educational standard was improving in the province. Enrolment of the students had increased while model schools were being established in each district in collaboration with international donors, he added.
“Time has come that we should all be on the same page for the progress of the province, especially in education, because we owe this to our future generations,” he concluded.
