MULTAN: A few days after poachers were rounded up for hunting tortoises to sell their meat to Chinese nationals, two men were caught selling 50kg crocodile meat in Kabirwala tehsil of Khanewal.
The two poachers, Muhammad Akram and Mazhar, both residents of Shujabad, were produced before a court on Tuesday.
The court sentenced them to jail time and also imposed a fine of Rs10,000 each.
According to officials, the two men were members of a gang which was involved in the tortoise meat trade. They added that the gang hunted tortoises in Shujabad near the Chopar Hatta canal in Khanewal and other areas of Punjab.
