PFA seals factories producing ‘fake’ beverages in Kasur

KASUR: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Sunday sealed factories producing fake soft drinks and juices, and confiscated a large quantity of the illegally produced beverages.

The vigilance cell of PFA raided soft drinks factories in Wandala town of Kasur district, which were supplied in Kasur city and suburbs.

During the raid, 11 thousand bottles of fake soft drinks and 17 thousand litres of juices manufactured from health hazardous chemicals were recovered and disposed of. Filling machines, carbonators and gas storage cylinders were also seized and the factories were sealed.

However, no arrests could be made. Separate cases have been registered against the owners and employees of the factory and investigations are underway.
