Two injured in blast at Landi Kotal market

LANDI KOTAL: At least two people were injured due to an explosion at a local market in Landi Kotal in the early hours of Friday.

According to details, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which was hidden in a plastic bag in the market, went off in Zakhakhel Adda Rangra market on Friday. Two men, Muhammad Rehman and Awwal Sher, were injured whereas three vehicles were partially damaged due to the blast.

Security forces cordoned off the area and began a search operation.

Two security officials were killed and nine others were injured when another roadside IED planted went off in Landikotal on the Pak-Afghan Highway in 2014.

The blast was targeted at a convoy of the Frontier Corps (FC), heading from Landi Kotal to Peshawar.
