KARACHI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair said on Thursday that the visit to the United States by a Pakistani delegation has helped enhance the confidence of American investors.
The governor, who also led the delegation to the US, was speaking at a reception hosted by the consul general of Pakistan in New York, says a statement issued by the governor house on Thursday.
Zubair said that the purpose of the visit was to apprise American investors and businessmen of the factual situation and ground realities, and to attract them toward investing in Pakistan for which the environment is very conducive, business-friendly and profitable.
He stated that the Pakistani delegation’s meeting with the office-bearers of the New York Stock Exchange was very encouraging and the two-day conference remained quite positive.
The governor was of the view that American investors and businessmen were keen to invest in Pakistan but seemed reluctant owing to a negative perception which in fact was contrary to the ground realities.
He said that he briefed the Americans about the improvement in the law and order situation and informed that Pakistan of today was quite different from that of 2013 and was now on the path of peace, development and prosperity.
Zubair said that business, economic, cultural and literary activities are taking place in Pakistan at a rapid pace and that due to business profitability, multinational companies are coming up with further investments in Pakistan.
He said that American investment would help overcome unemployment and poverty and will also help foster bilateral ties.
