–-Pakistan extends solidary to victims’ family, China government
Pakistan Foreign Ministry on Monday confirmed the death of the two Chinese nationals—abducted from Balochistan in May 2017—saying that the DNA reports obtained from the two bodies ascertained their identities.
The Chinese duo—Lee Zing Yang, 24, and Meng Li Si, 26, were abducted from Jinnah Town, Quetta, on May 24 this year. Later, the Islamic State of Syria and Levant (ISIL) claimed that it had killed the abductees.
“The government of Pakistan strongly condemns the death of two innocent Chinese Nationals. The DNA reports have confirmed that the two persons killed in Balochistan in June 2017 were the same two Chinese nationals, who were kidnapped from Quetta in May 2017,” the statement issued by the ministry said on Monday.
Balochistan has been facing an insurgency, which escalated following the launch of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as claimed by the provincial government and military; however, the abduction of the Chinese national had nothing to do with the project, as they were preaching privately for an underground church.
According to the investigation reports, the security agencies could not provide them security, normally provided to the Chinese nationals working on CPEC projects. The government authorities had also said that they had provided the Chinese nationals security which was rejected by the Chinese nationals.
The statement further said that the government expresses its deep sense of shock and grief on this brutal act of terrorism, and extends condolences to the government and people of the People’s Republic of China and sympathies to the families of the victims.
“The government would continue to conduct a thorough investigation and apprehend the perpetrators of this crime and to bring them to justice. Pakistan strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestation. We are grateful to the government of China for its strong support for our fight against the menace of terrorism,” the statement added.
The statement said that Pakistan will continue to work with China and the international community to enhance counter terrorism cooperation as well as regional and global peace and security.
Earlier, then interior minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan was informed by the investigation team that a group of Chinese citizens— which included the two abductees— obtained business visas from Pakistani Embassy in Beijing and entered Pakistan. However, instead of engaging in any business activity they went to Quetta and under the garb of learning the Urdu language were actually engaged in preaching for a Korean underground church.

Just that ISIL never claimed responsibility. There’s no such thing as ISIL in Pakistan.
IS is based in Afghanistan. Either Pakistan should take action against terrorists in Afghanistan and if doesn’t then China should take action against ETIM in Afghanistan.
I guess some criminals killed them on the orders of ETIM which is based in Afghanistan. China must take action against ETIM terrorists in Afghanistan.
