RAWALPINDI: Pakistan has protested the deliberate targeting of civilian population along the Line of Control (LoC) by the India army, in a special hotline contact established between the director generals of military operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and Indian armies.
“A special hotline contact was established between [the] director generals military operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and Indian armies today,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday. The DGMO said Indian troops were deliberately targeting innocent civilians including children, which was of serious concern and a violation of the 2003 ceasefire agreement.
On allegations of targeting of civilians by the Pakistan Army, the DGMO clarified that Pakistan considers people living across LOC as our brethren and Pakistan Army as a professional force has never been involved in such activities.
The ISPR stated that the LoC and WB have witnessed 1,140 truce violations in 2017 to date, killing at least 45 civilians and injuring 192 others.
Earlier on Friday, an Indian spy drone was shot by the Pakistani forces which had intruded into the Rakchikri sector in Azad Kashmir.
