PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak approved the construction of a national park in collaboration with Pakistan Air Force (PAF) spreading at an area of 1,800 Kanal in Kheshgi Nowshera. He also approved health and education welfare projects in Saidu Sharif and establishment of commercial aircraft’s maintenance college for the youth of the province.
The chief minister said that the provincial government was paying special attention towards the healthcare and education of the poor segment of the society. “Our policies are poor-friendly unlike previous government’s which deprived the people of their basic rights due to wrong policies,” he said.
He added that “now everything has changed and the rich and the poor will get equal opportunities for progress and development without any discrimination due to poor-friendly policies.”
He said this while presiding over a high-level meeting at Peshawar CM Secretariat. MPA Idrees Khan, Strategic Support Unit head Sahibzada Saeed, ex-Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Principal Advisor to Chief Minister on Technical Training and Aviation Air Commodore Muhammad Amin, administrative secretaries of respective departments, Nowshera additional DC and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed various schemes to be completed by the provincial government in collaboration with PAF. The meeting approved national park of International standard at Kheshgi Nowshera. The meeting also approved hospital near Saidu Sharif, welfare projects of schools and colleges and meat processing training centre.
Talking to the participants, the CM said that the provincial government was working on development and welfare projects simultaneously. He added that the provincial government’s main focus was on the neglected segments of the society, which is why KP government, besides provision of educational facilities, was also establishing professional and vocational training centres.
“For this purpose provincial government was taking advantage of the experiences of PAF,” he said. He added that merit and transparency was the hallmark of present government.
“We have established autonomous boards, authorities and companies enabling the government to take right decisions,” he said. He added that the present government had depoliticised all the institutions.
“Our main focus is the betterment of common man and its positive impact has trickled down to the grass root level,” Pervez Khattak said.
The meeting also approved a 3km road to connect general public to the welfare scheme undertaken in collaboration with PAF welfare trust comprising of a public school for girls, a public school for boys, hospital, dialysis centre, eye-care and vocational training centre near Misri Banda.
