ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb, reacting to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s speech in Mianwali, has said that the so-called ‘change’ doesn’t come from lying to people.
“Any real change comes after working hard day and night like Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has done,” she said in a statement issued on Saturday. Slamming Imran’s speech, she remarked that the PTI chairman was repeating his speeches and his lies. “Imran lies every time he opens his mouth,” she said.
The state minister said that Imran’s envy and greed for power have made him mentally unstable. In his public address in Mianwali, Imran had remarked that the Punjab chief minister should refrain from drama. Responding to this, Marriyum stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could have been like Punjab if instead of spreading lies, Imran had trained under Shehbaz.
“Imran failed to control the spread of dengue in his province,” she said, adding that it was about time that Imran announces to make the provincial accountability commission functional. “Shehbaz Sharif is the name of progress. Shehbaz’s work speaks for itself,” she added. About problems in the educational institutes, she said that about 35 per cent of schools in the Pakhtunkhwa province don’t have access to clean drinking water, whereas there are no toilets in 30pc of the schools.
On Saturday, Imran said that it was ‘high time’ that Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif should stop fooling the nation. “For how long will you continue fooling the nation Shehbaz Sharif,” he said, adding that he (Shehbaz) and his brother former prime minister Nawaz Sharif have only fooled this nation.
He claimed that he (Nawaz) has laundered Rs 300 billion but his family continues to be arrogant, and fails to admit its crimes. “One wants to gain sympathy by questioning the Supreme Court’s decision to disqualify him from holding public office while the other brother has not done anything to develop Punjab.”
