Fahim Ashraf becomes first Pakistani to claim hat-trick in T20Is

Pakistan‘s medium-pace bowler Fahim Ashraf on Friday became the first Pakistan bowler to claim a hat-trick in the T20Is.

He achieved the feat during the second of the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Ashraf finished with figures of three for 16, while he was also the highest wicket-taker for his side in the tie.

He is also the sixth bowler in the world to claim a hat-trick in the format. Ashraf dismissed batsmen Isuru Udana (6), Mahela Udawatte (0) and Dasun Shanaka (1) to get the hat-trick. The list is still dominated by two New Zealand players and two Sri Lankans, along with an Australian.
