Govt decides to reissue POC for overseas Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to re-launch the Pakistan Origin Card (POC) for spouses of overseas Pakistanis.

“I have approved restoration of Pakistan Origin Card (POC) for spouses of Pakistani nationals,” Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced on Twitter.

According to NADRA, the POC program includes visa-free entry into Pakistan, indefinite stay in the country, exemption from foreigner registration requirements, permission to purchase and sell property, and right to open and operate bank accounts.

  3. Are POC holders Pakistani citizens? OR, are they foreign citizens?
    Have they obtained renouncing certificate of their Pakistani citizenship from Pakistani Ministry of inter?
    Are they being recognised as Pakistani citizens, like NICOP card holders?
